The Head of Public Relations Bureau of the Constitutional Court Rubiyo officially closed the short course for delegates of foreign constitutional courts at the Ayana Midplaza Hotel, Jakarta, Friday (17/11). The short course followed by participants from 13 countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, South Korea, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan—had run smoothly. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Registrar of the Federal Court of Malaysia Aslam Zainuddin and Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center of the Indonesian Constitutional Court Budi Achmad Djohari.
"By expressing Alhamdulillah, I hereby declare the International Short Course ended," Rubiyo said in front of 20 participants who attended the event in the Grand Ballroom of the Ayana Midplaza.
Through a brief presentation, Rubiyo expressed his hope for the activities that took place on November 13–17, 2017. "In the last few days, the International Short Course participants have shared ideas and best practices with participants from other Asian countries, I hope that all the knowledge and insights gained during these activities can be beneficial both for self-development and for the institutions or organizations in each participating country," Rubiyo hopes.
In addition, Rubiyo wants to remind them that in accordance with the Board of Members Meeting in Bali the year before, it was decided that Indonesia be the AACC Secretariat for Planning and Coordination, Korea for the Research and Development Secretariat, and Turkey for the Human Resource Training and Development Center. It is expected that all secretariats can synchronize perceptions and actions together to strengthen all activities and programs to be undertaken by the AACC and member countries.
The initial meeting between Liaison Officers held Friday afternoon at the Jasmine Room of the Ayana Midplaza Hotel was expected to be an opening door to facilitate further coordination among AACC Member states, especially among Liaison Officers of the Permanent Secretariats.
"There is a need for good communication and coordination, which is the key for the four countries. Therefore, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia is committed to supporting and helping Malaysia and other AACC member countries when necessary," Rubiyo said.
After five days of presentations from several Indonesian constitutional experts, such as Constitutional Justice I Dewa Gede Paguna, Former Chief Justice Jimly Asshiddiqqie, Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) Agus Widjojo, and Chairman of Presidential Working Unit on Pancasila Ideological Training Yudi Latif, Former Constitutional Justice Maruarar Siahaan, Head of the Pancasila Pancasila and Constitution Education Center of the Constitutional Court Budi Achmad Djohari, the twenty participants were treated to a dinner accompanied by the melodious voice of Teddy Adhitya, a singer who won best newcomer award at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia 2017.
