The Constitutional Court (MK) held a coordinating meeting to prepare the 2015-2019 strategic planning, Thursday-Saturday (12-14/10/2017) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Bandung. The event was opened by Chief Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat. Deputy on Politics, Defense, and Security Law of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Slamet Soedarsono, Head of Sub-directorate of Harmonization of Non-Tax State Revenue Regulations Muji Budda, and structural and functional staff of the Constitutional Court attended the meeting.

In his address, Chief Justice Arief said that the event was an important moment for the Court in preparing the 2018-2019 strategic planning. “The strategic plans drafting is an important and strategic stage in the plans to achieve the objectives of the Court,” he said before the participants of the meeting.

Justice Arief said that the drafting was done by observing actual conditions, latest developments and needs in order to respond to anything in the right ways and swiftly. He said that constitutional, political, and legal developments heavily influenced the Court’s strategic plans and direction, but they must not stray from the direction and objectives of national development stipulated in the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, the Court’s strategic plans must comply with the Government’s plans, especially the nine Priorities Agenda (Nawacita).

Justice Arief added that the Court’s strategic plans were expected to support the achievement of priority agendas of the state and the Government. As an independent institution that share the same vision and mission with the Government and other state institutions. (Utami Argawati/LA)
