One of the most significant inspiration of Boedi Oetomo establishment in 1908 is the arise of Indonesian nationalist intellectuals that have noble ideal which is free from colonialism, Constitutional Court’s Registrar Kasianur delivered during Flag Ceremony commemorating National Awakening Day, in Friday (20/5) in Court yard.

“By arising intellectuals, our nation awakening began. The struggle of Boedi Oetomo was led by Dr. Wahidin Soedirohoesodo and Dr. Soepomo and then followed by young generations in 1928 which led to Youth Pledge,” said Kasianur reading the speech of Communication and Informatics Minister.

Kasianur said that the theme “Carving the Meaning of National Awakening in Manifesting Independent and Hardworking Indonesia” is important in dealing with new challenges which have two significant dimensions of pace and coverage.

“By this theme, we want to show our capacity in dealing with challenges by focusing in doing concrete and independent work,” said Kasianur in front of Constitutional Court staffs.

Kasianur said that the theme also concerns on international dimension; hardworking and independent character of Indonesia is for dealing with global competition.

“Competition is not just come from our surrounding neighbours. This is the time for us to work together with our brothers of nation for winning global competition,” said Kasianur.

Kasianur said that character and independent is the key to excel. “Now, ceremonial and unproductive discourse is not necessary. This is the time to work with new innovative ways, not just keep and justify old ways as has been practiced over years,” said Kasianur.

He further said that daily habits are not always correct and useful. “We need to do something right, not just justify something ordinary,” said Kasianur. (Nano Tresna Arfana/lul/Prasetyo Adi N)
