North Maluku election commission reported election rerun result of 20 polling stations of Bacan district in South Halmahera dispute further session, on Wednesday (6/4) in Plenary Room, the Constitutional Court Building. Attorney Ali Nurdin represented the election commission in the session.
The result is as followed: candidate pair number 1 (Related Party) gains 4837 votes, candidate pair number 2 gains 16 votes, candidate pair number 3 gains 12 votes, and candidate pair number 4 gains 2921 votes.
Responding the result, candidate pair Bahrein Kasuba and Iswan Hasim (Applicant) argued the election rerun benefited the Related Party. “The manipulation scenario is by getting rid of ballot documents during recapitulation. At that time, 26 ballot boxes was found in Labuha special school (SLB) in Tomori village, however its validity was doubted,” said AH Wakil Kamal representing the candidate pair.
The Applicant then asked the Related Party to give respond on election rerun result. However, justice panel head Arief Hidayat rejected it. “We only hear report on election rerun in 20 polling stations. Thus, there will be no hearing on both parties’ response. Justices will then asked about the report if there are things that need to be clarified,” said Arief.
