Indonesia is God-devoted democracy state, not a secular state; Chief Justice Arief Hidayat delivers the statement as keynote speaker at focus group discussion entitled ‘Constitutional Projection in Regional Elections Dispute Settlement’ on Tuesday (13/10) at Law Faculty of Universitas Negeri Semarang.
“Our founding fathers envisioned Indonesia as democratic law state. A democratic law state that based on Believe in Almighty God, not a secular one,” said Hidayat at Auditorium of Law Faculty.
Hidayat explains that all religions in Indonesia united by the Pancasila. Thus, Hidayat further says, democracy shall be based on Believe in Almighty God, so do law and economy. “All life aspect in Indonesia is based on Believe in Almighty God. Indonesia will be the best state in the world if all aspect implemented on it,” said Hidayat
Regarding regional elections dispute settlement, Hidayat hopes the settlement could be done in entire stage in the best possible way. He further says that regional elections will be run well if it is based on Believe in Almighty God.
“Candidate pairs who lost in regional elections will accept their defeat and not trying to subvert the winner using any attempt, if their participation in regional election is based on Believe in Almighty God,” said him. (Edoy/IR/Prasetyo Adi N)
