“This is great!” said President Joko Widodo fascinated witnessing hologram version declaration of independence read by Late President Sukarno. Joko Widodo was amongst the very first person to see the hologram showed at 5th and 6th floor of MK Building as he inaugurated Constitution History Centre located within.
The History Centre comprises 1.462,5 meters square of area left a mark for President and his entourages. Welcomed by reflection of holo screen at the entrance, Joko Widodo signed an inscription to mark the inauguration.
Accompanied by all Constitutional Justices, President paid full attention to Secretary-general Janedjri M. Gaffar’s explanation all along the sectors of the History Centre.
Constitutional History Centre was constructed in 2013, exhibiting eye-pleasing historical chronology of Indonesian Constitution by mixing information, technology, and art. The History Centre were spared into 8 sectors, namely Pre-independence zone, Independence Zone, 1945 Constitution Zone, Federal Constitution Zone, 1950 Temporary Constitution Zone, Comeback to 1945 Constitution Zone, 1945 Constitution Amendment Zone, and Constitutional Court Zone. “In general, The History Centre is designed to stage the Constitution history amidst the society, orderly, intact, and objectively,” said Janedjri.
In his speech, Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva said that the History Centre is intended to raise people’s awareness about our Constitution, akin to boosting constitutional culture and the Court through appealing and attractive ways.
Besides, the History Centre purposes in flaunting MK’s contribution to develop the nation. “Excerpting President Sukarno’s word, Great nation is one that respects its own history!. Thus the one who disregards its history, will forever become tiny nation,” he said, Friday (12/19).
Upon the History Centre, imprinted hope that future generation will infuse and regard the history of the Constitution. “In this matter, history of the nation and its constitution reflect and corresponding each other. When the constitutional history being poured, it is when the history of the nation carved with eternal ink,” he added.
To the press, Hamdan said that the History Centre is open publicly to all people, free-charge. “All Citizens, especially students may learn the Constitution here,” Hamdan said. (Lulu Hanifah/kun)
