In order to bolster understanding of constitutional rights, especially for the Islamic teachers, Constitutional Court strengthened ties with Religious Affairs Ministry as both state institutions poured pledges on memorandum of understanding (MoU). The charter was signed by MK Secretary-general Janedjri M. Gaffar and Dir. Gen. Islamic Teaching Kamaruddin Amin, observed by Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva and Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Saturday (11/29) at Constitution and Pancasila Study Centre, Cisarua, Bogor.
Hamdan Zoelva in his opening speech said that the cooperation aims to strive in bolstering Pancasila and Constitution understanding to the Teachers. “I appreciate this partnership and expecting to reach the goals for the sustainable partnership,” he said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Saifuddin Hakim hoped that the cooperation will boost teachers’ quality in educating their students. “Teachers are tip of the spear in education. By this cooperation, (i) hope opportunity for teachers is open. I know, being teachers is not simple task, but I hope they don’t lose their faith to educate and share their knowledge,” Lukman said.
The signing retains previous cooperation between the two institutions. By the ties, MK and Religious Affairs Ministry hold series of constitution education events for Teachers in primary and middle school.
Apart from it, alongside with Ministry of Culture and Primary, Middle Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Court held Award bestowal to Pancasila and Citizenship Teachers. The award was given to Ayatollah Hidayat from Bonotole Elementary School, Gowa, South Sulawesi. For Middle School, Tasiran from Pontianak 2 Islamic Middle School, West Kalimantan, was certified and Fuad Aljihad from Cilacap 1 High School, is bestowed the Award for high school level. The Awards were given directly by Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva and Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim.(panji erawan/kun)
