Constitutional Court (MK) granted revocation of judicial review on Act 17/2005 (UU MD3).
“Establishing, declaring, and granting revocation of the petition,” recited Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva at MK Plenary Room, Jakarta, Thursday (11/6).
Earlier, three House (DPR) members from Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), namely Dwi Ria Latifa, Junimart Girsang, and Henry Yosodiningrat failed to attend Patrialis Akbar-led preliminary hearing. In proceeding hearing, Dwi Latifa revoked the petition to shun ne bis in idem with another sentenced petition. “We thought the petition should have been revoked, to avoid ne bis in in idem with another declared petition. It is better to ponder although we are not allowed to file UU MD3 petition, we take the risk,” she added.
In response to that, Panel of Justices eventually received the revocation, “Everything is in your call, if you really want to do so than we regard your decision,” Patrialis Akbar who led the previous trial said. (Lulu Hanifah/mh/kun)
