Constitutional Court (MK) held another judicial review of Act 8/2010 about Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundry Crime (TPPU), as being appealed by TPPU convict, Akil Mochtar, Thursday (9/11).
The Agenda in Muhammad Alim-led trial was to inspect Akil’s pleading. His attorney, Adardam Achyar said that he has revised several fundamental changes as the Justices have advised in the previous hearing. “The revision has been filed to the Clerks on September 4, 2014,” Adardam said.
In response to the pleading, Alim said that additional evidences may be included in the plenary hearing.
Akil challenged 9 Articles of Act 8/2010, Article verse 2, Article 3, Article 4, Article 5 verse (1), Article 69, Article 76 verse (1), Article 77, Article 78 verse (1), and Article 95 Act 8/2010 of Money Laundering Fraud Eradication and Prevention (UU TPPU).Adardam described the phrase “reasonably suspected” as contained in Article 2, 3, 4, and 5 UU TPPU neglects comprehensive tracing for belongings derived from original crime as expedient of money laundering fraud.
By the argumentation, Akil asked MK to declare those Articles opposing Constitution. (Ilham/mh/kun)
