Constitutional Court (MK) drops sentences to six parties that applied for Riau Disputed Elections Result (PHPU) completion, namely, National Awakening Party (PKB), Justice Prosperous Party (PKS), Function Group Party (Golkar), Greater Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra), Democratic Party, and Justice and United Indonesia Party (PKPI). Sentence Trial was conducted on Wednesday, (25/6). In relation to PKS’ pleading which delivered inflated votes, comprising Gerindra and PDIP to be involved, MK viewed that the feud was only a matter of errors.

Deputy Head of MK, Arief Hidayat explained that different results can’t be associated with inflated votes, errors in calculation might just happen as well. Indication of inflated votes was just in Gerindra’s and PDIP’s mind.

“The Applicant’s arguments are unproven and stood on no legal standing. Decline the exception and entirely rejects the lawsuits,” Head of MK Hamdan Zoelva recited.

Preceding the sentence, PKS delivered unmatched total ballots with the recap result of the elections, Panwaslu addressed a recommendation, but it was snubbed by KPU.

MK also declined pleadings of United Development Party (PPP), Democratic Party, and Function Group Party (Golkar). PPP’s pleading especially was unproven, as KPU showed the validated recap result which had been signed by all parties, according to Justice Anwar Usman.

One lawsuit from PKB’s candidate, Iyeth Bustami was also thrown off after the plaintiff had no attempt to just even show up her tip of the nose in the hearing.(Lulu Anjarsari/mh)
