Not just spare his thought around constitutional and court whatnot, Chief of Constitutional Court Hamdan Zoelva, is also good at motivating students of Junior Secondary School (SMP) and High School (SMA).

Hamdan motivates the graduates by reminding the importance of educational pursuance. In the Insan Cendekia Madani graduation event which held on Monday (15/6), Hamdan retained that knowledge and education are the key to get their way passing through the pathway of success. “He will elevate the degree of faithful and knowledgeable person,” Hamdan excerpted Al Mujaadilah, verse 11.

The Bima-born Judge emphasized that pursuing educational degree must be conveyed by the intention of knowledge absorbance, the one who will be regarded praiseworthy on the eye of God.

The former Assembly of People’s Consultative (MPR) Ad Hoc I Committee cited that he never wondered of being council member or even Head of the prestigious-MK. Praised to God, It is knowledge that helped him made his way up to the top.   

Moreover, Hamdan also reminded to all audiences the importance of tackling language barrier, for that, he praised Insan Cendekia Madani for pouring its students with language utility, aside from using Bahasa.

Technological using was also his point to address. According to Hamdan, this undergone moving era accelerates people to gain information from elsewhere, even from bedroom. This is an advantage for nowadays generation compared to his era, when books and knowledge resources were likely beyond his reachable distance. “The price was also a problem.” Hamdan remembered.  He also added the importance of having good character, in order to compete global realm “Character encompasses strong nation, it is the only thing to hinder foreign culture that may degrade our Islamic and Indonesian character,” Hamdan said.

Hamdan stated the Indonesian muslim character is different to tough Arab’s. Indonesian Islamic character bears distinctive impression from others, which he believes derived exactly from the Quran and should be regarded as the origin of Islamic civilization.    

Other key of successful path, according to Hamdan is praying. Praying shows our humility to involve God in every way we choose as our responsibility in believing His existence and to convey positive ambience. Before the closing, Hamdan recited one of his favorite poetry’s, Kahlil Gibran, masterpiece, titled “Your Children”. (Ilham/mh)
