Constitutional Court (MK) held a preliminary session on 2014’s PHPU, as being delivered by candidates of Regional Representative Council (DPD) membership, on Friday (23/5) at MK plenary Session Room. The session itself generated 32 cases from 19 provinces.
The nineteen-province, namely Aceh, North Sumatera, South Sumatera, Bengkulu, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Gorontalo, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, and West Papua.
Some Applicants also listed as incumbent members, namely, Poppy Dharsono, Central Java DPD member, Herlina Murib and Paulus Yohanes Sumino from Papua, Mursyid from Aceh, and Mohammad Sofwat from South Kalimantan.
As happened to legislative elections, the Applicants of DPD must also revise their documents, most of them didn’t attach their version of calculation. Legal standing and evidences also became their main problems. Only one applicant is listed to has his files done. Syamsul Zakaria , candidate from DKI Jakarta.
Candidate from Maluku, Nono Sampono, has been announced to find a seat in DPD, as he made it through the election by gaining second-biggest votes there. But he still filed a complaint to MK, “I want to fight for every single vote, this is for the democracy and the people”. He is stating that he losts 40.000 votes, because the committees, being accused to partially support other candidates”
John Wempi Wona, DPD candidate from Papua was being ranked 11th in the election. He suggests that he losts 37.000 ballots, because his votes were diverted by KPK. With the low-rank and the non-existence of legal assistance, John’s pleading is most likely useless.(Lulu Hanifah/mh)
