Constitutional Court receives 702 applications on 2014’S PHPU, delivered by political parties, Aceh local parties, and individual DPD candidates.

“Based on registered applicants, after the verification, it is safe to say that there are 702 cases, 30 cases sent by individual DPD and the rest 672 cases registered by national and Aceh local party.” As described by MK General Secretary Janedjri M. Gaffar during the press conference in MK building, Tuesday (13/5).

Compared to the 2009’s PHPU which handled by MK, this year’s PHPU shows increasing cases. In 2009, 628 cases were received by MK from 38 parties. While this year’s PHPU MK received 702 cases. “That means, this year one party pleads for 48 cases on average” Janedjri explained.

All participating party, excluding Aceh Party, registered their application to MK. “it can be inferred that all parties questioned KPU’s official result in all provinces, aside from DI Yogyakarta” he added.

Based on the verification result, Stars and Crescent Party (PBB) proposes most cases, with total 90 dispute indication. Followed by Democratic Party and Golkar, with 85 and 73 cases each. Even so, the verification will take place until Thursday (15/5) , thus the number may change.

Completing Application

By this day, PHPU is proceeding to label application with Received Application Files (APPP), Completed Application Files (APL), and Uncompleted Application Files (APTL). “Everything has addressed to all applicants. According to the data, all of the applicants gain APTL. So they need to complete everything first” Janedjri said.

Applicants will be given 3x24 hours to complete their application. Therefore, applicants must register the fixed documents by Thursday, 23.51. The incomplete files mostly happened because the evidences haven’t matched with the pretension. The files only include KPU’s result but nothing shows their demand. If the applicants failed to complete their files, it will be directly delivered to the Justices to decide on the verdict. (Lulu Hanifah/mh)
