As a series of regional qualifying, Central Regional Constitutional Debate Competition held 26-28 March 2014 after the regional competition for the west that took place from 22-23 March. The Constitutional Court ( MK ) held a Constitutional Debate Competition 2014 as the sixth annual event after the first time to hold one in 2009 .

Secretary General Janedjri M. Gaffar the opening ceremony of the Constitutional Debate Competition 2014 Central Regional, Wednesday ( 03/26/2014 ) , in the Hall of the Faculty of Law of the University Eleven March ( UNS ) , Surakarta said that the competition was held so that students can see each national problems by relying on the constitution . In addition, students are expected to not only know and understand , but also take responsibility to provide solutions to the problems facing the nation on constitutional grounds.

On this occasion Jenedjri expresses his view, the issue of the constitution is not just a question of law alone, but also questions about the state . With the principles of Indonesia as a democratic constitutional state and a democratic state based on law, the law applicable in Indonesia should be formed by democratic means. Establishment of the law should not be just for the sake of a handful of people , which will only lead to authoritarianism . According to him, every product in Indonesian law must be based on the Basic Law (Constitution) .

Jenedjri appreciates the presence of a number of deans of other faculties were also present . He also invited the deans are present in UNS to be able to attend seminars that will be held on the Court Saturday, March 29, 2014 as a series of activities of the Constitutional Debate Competition .

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs III UNS , Dwi Tyanto , stated that this event is very important for students , especially law students . Dwi Tyanto hope that the champion 1 , 2 , and 3 competition which will be held later be won by six participants Constitutional Debate Competition Central Regional . Dwi Tyanto officially opening the event that symbolically by hitting the gong five times accompanied by the Secretary General Janedjri M. Gaffar . (Ilham/ mh )
