Lapindo mudflow victims in Sidoarjo who witnessed again demanded the government immediately intervene in resolving the payment of compensation for the Promised Land. The claims were submitted by six residents of Sidoarjo in the judicial Budget Act of 2013, Thursday (28/11) at the Constitutional Court building. The sixth person is a citizen of the mudflow victims who were in the home location Map of Affected Area (PAT), which until now only receive 20 % payment of land compensation.

Djuwito Renokenongo as a villager lamented the attitude of PT Lapindo Minarak stalling indemnity. “We have received a payment of 125 million, or only 20 % of the total losses. We were promised 80 % balance will be paid at the end of December 2008, but in fact to date we have not received the remaining payment as promised," he said.

Comes with Djuwito, some villagers of Renokenongo and Siring are also expressed similar things. This contrasts with the treatment received outside PAT residents who have received the entire compensation paid by the government. “We saw no difference in treatment; we felt treated unfairly," said one of the victims Subakhri.

To fight for their rights, people have also asked Sidoarjolocal legislators to support them. Chairman of the Special Committee of Parliament Sidoarjo mudflow, Emir Firdaus Munir claimed to have tried to bridge a meeting between the community and PT Minarak Lapindo, but so far have not met satisfactory common ground.

The Court will open up trial continued still planned to be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 and provide an opportunity for the applicant to bring two experts. (Julie / mh )
