Involving Civil Servant Accusation, Majalengka Election Result to be Sued

The process of implementation of the regional head election Majalengka, West Java, the results of which were won by incumbent Regent Majalengka Sutrisno - Karna Sobahi (Suka), was sued by candidate Nazar Hidayat - Tio Indra Setiadi (Hati).

In the trial case number 141/PHPU.D-XI/2013, Majalengka Election Dispute, Wednesday (16/10/2013), led by Deputy Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva, Petitioner through their legal counsel, Erdi Jaya Sumantri, questioned the involvement of civil servants (PNS) echelon II Regency Majalengka in campaign of Sutrisno - Karna Sobahi.

Erdi also revealed the existence of irregularities in the counting of the votes by the General Election Commission (KPU) Majalengka. Erdi revealed, many lost votes in the ballot counting process. In addition, as part of a series of bubbles, indicated by the double voters summons to the manipulation of the ballot counting.

According to Erdi, to get the sound of 56.34 % , or 374,538 votes, then the couple must obtain Suka vote on each of the polling stations ( TPS ) throughout Majalengka is as much as 158 votes or 48 % . But the facts show that the vote’s candidate number 2 in TPS was not reached by 48 % vote in each polling station.

Applicant denied

Allegation was denied by Majalengka Commission’s attorney, Memet Ahmad Hakim, who asserts that despite multiple invitations Election, but based on Majalengka Election Commission’s documents voters are simply voting at polling stations only 1. In addition, there were no witnesses of the candidates who filed objections, especially about double voters. Memet also reminded the Constitutional Assembly to examine changes in the number of the ballot proposition, because the applicant only postulate on the average calculation of counting the ballots.
