Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) M. Akil Mochtar attended the celebration event and Hospitality Association of Families of West Kalimantan (IKKB) of Greater Jakarta, Tuesday (18/6) at Balai Kartini, Jakarta. Present on the occasion among others Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Agung Laksono, West Kalimantan Governor Cornelis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees IKKB Oesman Sapta, Chairman of IKKB Taheri Noor and others.

In his word, Akil Mochtar said that the event is expected to be an excellent friendship to share insights and opportunities, especially to encourage the community together and the sons and daughters of West Kalimantan to play an active role in development at various levels, both in West Kalimantan alone or at the national level.

"In addition, it is very likely event this friendship we use to reflect and address the situation and the actual conditions and problems of the nation today, so then we have the awareness and effort to participate in solving problems of the nation," explained Akil to attendees .

Akil sees IKKB potentially be mobilized to undertake systematic efforts, especially in re-planting and strengthening moral and national values.

Related to his position as Chief Justice, Akil said he wanted to prove to the public and the Court states that the performance can be better and more reliable. In addition, he must be ready and willing to be limited, especially for all things related to the potential duties and responsibilities as Chief Justice, both restricted by laws or regulations of conduct.

Akil further urges all citizens to contribute to addressing the actual circumstances that developed at this time. "In the midst of all the progress in the various fields, political, legal and constitutional nation that has been achieved, we cannot deny that this nation is facing serious problems in nearly all aspects of life," said Akil.

Added Akil, in the field of law enforcement is still heard here and there is still the law cannot be enforced and justice. Legal reforms first implemented in line with political reforms, has not managed optimally after seeing today’s reality. (Hamdi / mh)
