Head of Research and Case Studies, Library Management of Constitutional Court, Wiryanto receives a visit from students of State Islamic University of Makassar on Monday afternoon (10/06).
In face-to-face opportunity, Wiryanto describes four main functions and duties of the Constitutional Court which is reviewing the Act against the 1945Constitution, to decide the authority disputes of state agencies, to decide dispute of the election results and dissolution of political parties as well as the opinion of the House to decide on violations that led to the president’s impeachment.
Additionally Wiryanto also testified about how the process in the Court. Litigants in the Court, Wiryanto said, must meet the requirements of petition’s administration, among others: the request must be in writing in Indonesian, signed by the applicant or their attorney and have dual 9, as well as the name and address of the applicant must be clear.
"Application for the applicant must meet the requirements contained in the Constitutional Court, if not then the application will not be accepted by the Court," he explained.
In addition, a principal reason for the applicant’s petition is a legal basis, facts and arguments. Court always put certainty and reason of the applicant in any litigation.
"Having a case in the Constitutional Court must be really strong to give an explanation to the judge constitution, and also in the Court never charge a penny for any case," continued Wiryanto
Wiryanto also said that during the trial, the applicant may withdraw his application at any time, but the application cannot be resubmitted to the Court for the same reason.
The visit attended by nine students and a professor of head of religious court law department ends with the awarding of plaques of UIN Makassar to the Court as a memento. (Panji Erawan / mh)
