In order to improve the competence of the employees in the areas of protocol and secretariat, the Registrar’s Office and the General Secretariat of the Constitutional Court held a training protocol and Secretary at 10-12 May 2013 held at the Education Center of Pancasila and Constitution, Cisarua, Bogor. The event was opened by the Secretary General Janedjri M. Gaffar on Friday night (10/5) and was attended by Registrar of the Court Kasianur Sidauruk. This training was followed by the Court officials who had been responsible for providing direct services to the public.

In his speech, Janedjri confirmed the important role that the purpose of this training as a means of improving the capabilities, skills, and attitudes of employees in the areas of protocol and secretariat. However, Janedjri reminded that prior to further learn about these three things, there are more important things to note, that is the essence of the existence of the Court.

"To improve the ability, skills, and attitudes, first needs to be understood and seen clearly the nature of existence, including the position of the Court in The constitutional system of the Republic of Indonesia," said Janedjri.

Furthermore, according to Janedjri, the Court has sought to change the pattern better in improving services in the areas of protocol. One example was the activities of the trial which has been supported by the presence of protocol officer in the execution arrangements and trial order. "But these efforts do not stop. We still have to continue to improve and evaluate existing services," he added.

"In the field of protocol, although the majority of work on the technical work, but that role remains important and should not be underestimated," remember Janedjri. On the other hand Doctoral Candidate of Legal Sciences of Diponegoro University is also clarify the role of the secretarial field have made at least three aspects, namely technical skills, management skills, and concepts. Janedjri outlines that this capability is essential to carry out the responsibilities of leadership in supporting the main task in deciding the case the Court dealt with.

The training which lasted for three days will be filled by some authorities that are competent in their respective fields. Among them was a guest speaker from the State Secretariat who will provide material on the Law Protocol, Protocol Functions and Roles, and from Tarakanita present material of Administration and the Personality Ethic. In addition, the training of archivists MK speakers filled the Archive Management and Helmy Yahya who teaches material about Communication Ethics and Public Speaking. (Fitri Yuliana / mh)
