Sinjai Regency’s Election Commission and Related Party Responded Petitioner’s Allegation

The Constitutional Court (MK) continued the hearing on dispute of Election result of Sinjai Regency filed by seven Petitioners, Tuesday (8/5). This session heard answers of Sinjai Election Commission and Related Party. Petitioner No. 47/PHPU.D-XI/2013 was not present at the trial anymore.

Sinjai Election Commission represented by Legal Counsel, Sofyan Sinte answered the allegations of the Petitioners. First Sofyan replied Petitioner No. 43/PHPU.D-XI/2013, 44/PHPU.D-XI/2013, 45/PHPU.D-XI/2013, and 49/PHPU.D-XI/2013 who questioned the passing of Candidate No. 2, Mahyanto Massarappi-Massalinri Latif by the Commission. The applicant previously considered Mahyanto-Massalinri not qualified because of the double support of Hanura.

Then the issue straightened out by Sofyan who said determination Mahyanto-Massalinri due to the turmoil in Hanura, instead of double support. Chairman of Branch Council of Hanura Sinjai and its Deputy Secretary together gave support to Candidate Mahyanto-Massalinri. However, Deputy Chairman of Hanura Sinjai and its Secretary provided support to Candidate Andi Muhammad Irwan Patawari and Andi M. Takdir Hasyim.

"It turns out the verification and clarification by Sinjai Commission, known apparently support not signed by a secretary who is actually because the secretary had a conflict of interest that would like to support her husband, the Petitioner No. 45. Then, Sinjai Commission was doing clarification and verification to DPP Hanura in Jakarta. DPP Hanura also stated all the management of DPC Hanura Sinjai legitimate everything.

Related Party who represented by his attorney, Muh. Burhanuddin answered allegations of Petitioner No. 43. Burhanuddin said petition vague and merely assumptions alone. While in the principal case, Burhanuddin dismissed allegations of money politics. In fact, Burhanuddin pointed behind Applicant No. 43 was the one who did the practice of money politics and the provision of goods with political motives. "The names of the alleged practice of money politics by the Petitioner No. 43 was never registered as our successful team, your honor," said Burhanuddin.

At the end of the trial, Judge Panel Member, Ahmad Fadlil Sumadi asked all litigants submit evidence and a list of the evidence as soon as possible. The next session was held on Wednesday (8/5) at 15:00 pm with the agenda the examination of witnesses by the Petitioners. (Yusti Nurul Agustin / mh)
