Merangin Election Commission’s Witness Denies Military or Police Members Vote

The Constitutional Court (MK) held the trial continued in the second session of Dispute of Election Result of Merangin Regency on Wednesday (17/4). Respondent’s Witness (Merangin’s Election Commission) which is the District Election Committee expressed no objection submitted by the Petitioner’s witnesses in four districts. Moreover, the argument of the members of the military / police who exercise their rights, the witness denied Respondent Basri as District Election Committee. He acknowledged there are two members of the military / police are getting invitations to choose, but they do not exercise their voting rights. "There were two people got the invitation, but as soon as I checked into the field are both did not participate in the ballot," he explained.

Denies Money Politics and Mobilization of Civil Servant 

In the trial, there were also witnesses Related Party denied allegations of money politics as argued by the applicant. Abu Bakar denied the mobilization of civil servants and civil servants who distribute the money. "Do not ever give money and Mrs. Muniasih was never becoming part of our campaign team," he explained.

Village Head Not Involved

Meanwhile, witnesses Applicant consisting of a village chief explained that not being involved in the formation of PPS and KPPS by the Respondent. It is as expressed by the village head of Lubuk Bawang, Abdul Karim. According to him, as the head of the village, he was not notified of the establishment of PPS and KPPS by Merangin Regency. "I am not at all involved," he explained.

The same thing stated by the head of Bukit Batu Village which revealed a lack of coordination of Merangin Regency as the Respondent. "I did not get on the establishment of coordination and KPPS PPS in my village," he said.

Through the attorney M. Luthfie Hakim, Petitioner argues that there is a structured, systematic, and massive violation in the administration of Merangin’s Election Commission done by Couple Haris-Khafied (HARKAD). The structured violations have occurred in the first electoral district consists of four districts, namely Renah Pembarap, Bangko, Nalo Tantan, Batang Masumai.

Additionally, Petitioner argues that the mobilization of the Supervisory Committee, KDP, the village, the village, and organizers of the election by a certain candidate.
