Arief Hidayat officially becoming a judge, after the oath in front of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday (1/4) afternoon, at the State Palace. Arief replaced Constitutional judge Moh. Mahfud MD who has entered a full devotion on April 1, 2013.

After making the oath, the former dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Diponegoro, signed swearing followed by administration officials congratulated by all present. It looked on the occasion a number of leaders of state institutions such as the Chairman of the House of People Representatives Marzuki Alie, the Chairman of the House of Regional Representatives Irman Gusman, and Chairman of the State Audit Board Hadi Purnomo.

Previously, Professor of Constitutional Law has also been through the fit and proper test by the House. He was selected in voting in the House of Representatives Commission III, beginning in March 2013, with the acquisition of 42 votes out of a total of 48 votes.

Arif Hidayat was born in Semarang; February 3, 1956 is not a "new guy" in the world of law, especially constitutional law and the state constitution. In addition to actively teaching, he also served as chairman on several professional organizations, such as the Chairman of the Association of Teachers HTN-HAN Central Java, Chairman of Center for the Study of Democracy and Constitutional Law, Chairman of the Association of Law Teachers and the Gender Perspective Interest in Indonesia, as well as the Chairman of the Center for the Study of Environmental Law.
