"KAHMI need people who can be trusted. Therefore, there must be solidarity of all alumni of HMI to save this nation from the downturn that is currently going on," said Mahfud together with KAHMI Assembly in the House of Azhari Alfatah Maluku Ambon on Sund
"HMI Alumni were very numerous and almost all government structure. Thus, future KAHMI should contribute to the advancement of Indonesia," said Mahfud.
Mahfud explained, in a nation that is experiencing a situation such as the current downturn, it is necessary collective consciousness of all alumni of HMI to determine the future of a strong leader to make Indonesia a more advanced.
Strong leader, continued Mahfud, is a bold and clean leader also has firmness, elected through a democratic process and constitutional. "We have a vision to build solidarity, that we will be looking for leaders in a way that democratic and constitutional," said the Mahfud.
Further according to Mahfud, strong leadership could have been from KAHMI or also from people outside KAHMI. "Strong leadership is greatly in need of a collective consciousness, but it can also be from KAHMI people or not," he said.
In his explanation, Mahfud also touched on the current conditions in which many alumni HMI tangled legal issues, "Many alumni of a HMI tangled legal issues. And strangely judge from alumni HMI, and HMI alumni of prosecutors, but the defendants are also alumni of the HMI," said Mahfud .
Earlier, Chairman KAHMI Maluku Abdul Hamid Talaohu said in his speech, the problem of corruption in Indonesia is now very severe and threatening life of the nation so that Indonesia fore in desperate need of a leader who has moral integrity.
"We are at all times treated with news of corruption. Phenomenon is a serious problem facing this nation, the people want a clean leader, integrity, and we think a figure like that still exist in KAHMI," he said. (Ddy / mh)
