Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Moh. Mahfud MD received the PWI Award, from the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) category influential national leaders in the fields of law, Friday (22/03) in Gresik, East Java. The award was presented by the chairman of the PWI Center Margiono in Birthday event (HUT) and the 67th National Press Day 2013 in East Java level.
besides Mahfud, several other national leaders also have the grace of PWI Award, as Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa for economics prize, the Chairman of the Association of the District Government of Indonesia (APKASI) Isran Noor category increased regional autonomy, and the Governor of East Java Sukarwo to category head regions that have successfully reorganize the bureaucracy.
In addition, the event which took place at Wisma Ahmad Yani PT. Cement Indonesia was also attended by Governor of East Java Sukarwo, Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas, and chairman of the East Kutai Regent Isran Noor, chairman and chief of PWI Margiono and PWI East Java Ahmad Munir.
Chairman of PWI Margiono in his speech said that the press is now a credible institution in the community aspirations, much better than the political parties are supposed to be placeholder’s aspirations. But unfortunately in the selection process of national leadership it was submitted by political parties that have low credibility.
Furthermore, Margiono revealed Mahfud and former member of the National Election Commission, Putu Arta, the former members of the press who currently has the gait at the national level. (Ilham/ mh)
