State of Indonesia is designed not by an Islamic state, but Pancasila became the basis of the Indonesian state. "A matter of religion was within the forum Internum. Where religion is a matter for each man, \" said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Moh. Mahfud MD in an event entitled "Islam and the Future of Leadership Nation” held at Grand Legi Mataram Hotel Ballroom, Saturday (26/1).

At the event, Mahfud also said God made the difference for us to be a free country and can tolerate of all religions. In contrast, we as human beings are vying with each other to do good and mutual respect.

"Humans have the same mission, which is to choose a leader who can uphold justice, and welfare of its people. If that be true, then all the people would certainly agree, and can enforce democracy is good and true," he said.

The bottom line, said Mahfud, the state is not religion, it will not have a good democracy and law, therefore we gather with different religions, have one purpose, namely to uphold and build a clean government.

In addition to discussing the relationship between religion and state, Mahfud also talks about democracy in the reform era in 1998. Previously, democratic Indonesia has strayed away from the true meaning, where democracy embodied in our Constitution that the Constitution of 1945. A lot was wrong with the state authorities to conduct authority corruption, collusion, and nepotism that have taken hold. This led leadership hostage and imprisoned by it. This led to the fall of the values of the constitution and Pancasila which the Indonesian state.

Do not forget, delivered by Mahfud the current state system with no such thing as the highest state institution. All organizations today are parallel or equivalent, only distinguished from its function only.

At the end of his talk, Mahfud reminded all participants of public lectures and public discussions, how to choose a leader at this point. According Mahfu, the leadership-minded nationalism, selflessness, always prospering people, and the most important thing is to fight for democratic countries, in order to better and develop the nation.
