Once elected by acclamation on 10 January for a post as Vice Chairman of the Constitutional Court for a second time, Judge Achmad Sodiki any Constitutional oath before Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Moh Mahfud MD and other constitutional judges on Monday (14/1). Special plenary session in order swearing Vice Chairman MK Term of Office 2013 - 2015 which was also attended by several state officials, including the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Irman Gusman, Vice Chairman of the Assembly Melani Leimena Suharli, Hajriyanto Tohari, Deputy Attorney General Darmono, and others.

 

"Under the provisions of Article 4 of the Law on the Constitutional Court, Deputy Chief Justice Ahmad Sodiki ended his term on January 12, 2013 this. Along with that, on Thursday, January 10th, 2013 ago, the Court held a plenary meeting to elect Deputy Chief Justice Court tenure from 2013 to 2015," said Mahfud.

 

According to Mahfud, vice chairman of the electoral process has been implemented, democratic, and in accordance with the provisions. For the Court, continued Mahfud, election of chairman and vice-chairman are common and routine, as well as the Constitutional Court to examine, try and decide constitutional matters. Quite different from the process of filling the positions in political institutions, continued Mahfud, in the Court, there is no lobbying by judges to himself elect as Chief Justice or Deputy Chief Justice.

 

"Essentially, there is no conflict or contestation among judges to pick and win one election. The judges themselves instead leave it to the judge each other to choose anyone it deems appropriate," explained Mahfud.

 

On that occasion, Mahfud explain the \'force\' the Court held a public trust judiciary today. According to Mahfud, the Court has capital openness in carrying out the functions and duties of the Constitutional Court. Mahfud said no one was related to institutional issues are not addressed in a fair and deliberations openly. In addition to transparency, Mahfud added independence and impartiality as another Court capital in upholding law and justice. The independence and impartiality of the judiciary is a pillar of the rule of law and to the principle of universal justice agencies across the country. "For the Court itself, the independence and impartiality is interpreted and internalized as immune from outside influence, not only from the executive and the legislature, but also from all the pressure of public opinion, non-governmental organizations, or political parties," he said.
