"MK RI is the judiciary in constitutional law and politics. RI Constitutional Court has the authority to overturn legislation to dissolve political parties. MK RI own new born in 2003, so the new stand for 9 years. People lay not too familiar with us, unlike MA, so we did a lot of socializing. But functionally, the Constitutional Court of Indonesia has to perform its function well. It can be seen from the cases handled Constitutional Court in 2009, which is as many as 742 cases. In Soeharto era, the election results should not even no dispute about the election results," said Mahfud.
Meanwhile, as a close neighbor Indonesia, Singapore Anil reveals see many changes taking place in Indonesia. According to Anil, as close neighbors is very important to know the state and the new changes in Indonesia. "In Indonesia, changes occur rapidly over the past 12 years back. It is incredible. Then I followed the progress of the election of governors and see the changes between the nature and interests change. And I see now, the task is also complicated and difficult father," he said.
According to Mahfud, Indonesia is now much more mature, for example, the issue disputed election. "Now that the election is problematic issues will lead to the Constitutional Court. Indonesia have grown to bring to the Court. If it is cut, it can be resolved. From this it can be seen that there have been improvements in the Indonesian constitution, "he explained.
Responding to a question Anil about challenges faced by Indonesia next five years, Mahfud toughest challenge is the political behavior (politic behavior). According to Mahfud, political behavior in Indonesia has too long a period of euphoria. "We've been here 12 years. Now we more focused on political behavior in the future. How to organize political laws extensively, but there should be no political deal, "he said. (Lulu Anjarsari / mh/Yazid.tr)
