Dozens of Eleven March State University (UNS) of Surakarta Students accompanied by two faculty mentors visited the Constitutional Court (MK), Friday (7/9) morning. Their visit was welcomed by the Head of Research and Case Studies, Management of Information and Communication Technology Noor Sidharta, and was accompanied by the Head of Research, Assessment and Case Library Wiryanto, in Press Conference Room, 4th floor of the building MK, Jakarta.
In the meeting, Noor Sidharta explains about the powers and liabilities owned MK. In addition, the library is owned by the Constitutional Court also suggested to introduce a facility owned by the agency. According to him, the Court has 4 (four) and has carried the authority of Act of the 1945 Constitution, disputes the authority of state institutions the authority granted by the 1945 Constitution, and disputes over the election results.
However, Sidharta said, there is one authority which had never been entered in the trial in the Court. Authorities are prosecuting the dissolution of political parties. Not everyone can take the case, unless the government. "All authority has been implemented, but to the authority of the dissolution of a political party no matter which entry in the Constitutional Court, which can be filed only because the government," explained Sidharta front of the participants who came from Central Java. In addition to these powers, there are liabilities held by the Court to give a decision on the opinion of the House that the President and / or Vice President has violated the law, or moral turpitude, or do not qualify as President and / or Vice President as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution.
On the other hand, Sidharta also explained with regard to the nine constitutional judges. He said, the constitutional judges or representatives from the legislative proposals (DPR), the executive (President), and judicial (Supreme Court) are usually referred to by the three powers of Trias Politica. "Although it has been entered into the Court, they are not affected by the powers that (3 agency that sent them)," he explained.
Finally, Sidharta also suggested the development of MK library. In this case, the library owned MK are three floors in the building. Libraries first MK was on the 5th floor, both located on the 6th floor, and the last on the 16th floor. Especially for the existing library on the 16th floor, the employees and the outside community MK should not be visiting there except by constitutional judges.
Looking ahead, continued Sidharta, books that are no longer in the library MK physical form, but will use the e-book (electronic book), so by using one of the electronic form of computer visitors can read the contents of the book. The changes are made by the Constitutional Court, he added, because of the limitations which are owned by the Constitutional Court. "The library needs of our increasingly limited to the physical nature of the book, so we will buy in the form of electronic book," said Sidhartha MK revealed plans ahead to the students.
It is said Sidharta again, the library will be moved to the 8th floor. The 5th and 6th floors are original to library, will be used as space for Historical Documentation Center of the Constitution and the Constitutional Court. "There (Center for Historical Documentation and Constitutional Court) will be installed the history of the Indonesian Constitution and the Constitutional Court of Indonesia," he said.
