Central Maluku Election Commission Reports on Re-Count the Votes

Election Commission of Central Maluku District (Respondent) reports the implementation of the Constitutional Court Decision No. 38/PHPU.DX/2012 is ordered to re-count of ballots in the election district regent and vice regent of Central Maluku second round. The result, according to Respondent, it was won by Candidate Tuasikal Abua-Marlatu Leleury (Related Parties in this case).

It was, as stated by Chairman of KPU Malteng La Alwi, Tuesday (7/8) in the courtroom of the Constitutional Court panel, to the Constitutional Assembly. "The result (after a recount, red) did not change the ranking of each candidate," he said.

The results of the vote each candidate are as follows: Tuasikal Abua-Marlatu Leleury acquires 90.027 valid votes (50.58%) while Jusuf Latuconsina-Liliane Aitonam gets 87.951 valid votes (49.42%).

La Alwi also said the vote count has been re-watched by the parties are ordered by the Court in its verdict. That is Maluku Election Commission, Election Supervisory Board, and the Election Supervisory Committee of Central Maluku regency. In addition, there were also the Petitioner, the Related Parties, Police, and the commander of the local.

Even so, he said, the applicant submits an objection on the recount process. There are few things in question by the applicant, including misspelled ID card, a blank ballot box located in front of the warehouse, as well as the mechanism for a recount.

Furthermore, Respondent's report was later confirmed by Maluku Commission and Maluku Central Supervisory Committee that also attended the hearing.
