Rector of the University of Mahendradatta (Marhaen University) Shri I Gusti Ngurah Arya III Wedakarna Mahendradatta Suyasa took an audience with Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Moh. Mahfud MD on Wednesday (11/1). This meeting was conducted in the Chief Justice’s room.

During the meeting, Mahfud and Arya Wedakarna discussed various things. One of them was to invite Mahfud to Bali, especially to the University of Mahendradatta. The goal was to attend the University of Mahendradatta’s 49th Anniversary.

In the event, Mahfud will be awarded the University of Mahendradatta Award 2012. This event will be held on 18 January.

Mahfud selected because Mahfud rated as the nation’s leaders who uphold the values of democracy and pluralism. In addition, Mahfud also regarded as an academic who not only care, but also dare to fight for both. "He’s a leader who they are," said Arya.

Earlier, in 2010 the past, this gift is received by the (late) KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). At that time, an award had been given to Inayah Abdurrahman Wahid.

Mahendradatta university itself is a private institution of higher education in East Nusa Tenggara’s oldest and one of the oldest in Indonesia which was established by the First President Ir. Sukarno in 1963 with the Balinese character education(late) Shri Wedastera Suyasa. (Dodi/Yazid.tr)
