Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Mahfud MD officially opened the Constitutional Court Moot Court Competition of University Level across Indonesia 2011 in the hall of the Court House, Thursday (10/11) afternoon. Mahfud congratulated on the arrival of newcomers from the teams that will participate Moot Court Competition.

Best team

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court Janedjri M. Gaffar describes the activities of the Constitutional Court Moot Court Competition consists of two stages, namely stage of the assessment file and the trial stage appearance.At this stage of the assessment file, taken two teams with the best beam for each region, there are five regions total, the right to advance to the stage of court appearances.

Thus, Janedjri said, there were 10 teams who entered college at the trial stage appearance. The ten teams who entered the trial stage is the appearance of the Faculty of Law: University of Andalas (Padang), University of North Sumatra (Medan), University of Indonesia (Jakarta), University of Parahyangan (Bandung), University of Gadjah Mada University (Yogyakarta), University of Diponegoro (Semarang), University of Jember (Jember), UB (Malang), Hasanuddin University (Makassar), Muslim Indonesia University (Makassar).

"The ten teams will compete for the Constitutional Court’s practice of testing case law against the Constitution. Each participant will feature three kinds of trials, namely the preliminary examination, examination of the trial, and to read the decision, "explained Janedjri to attendees.

Appearance of 10 teams will be judged by a panel of judges, chaired by prof. Dr.Arif Hidayat, Dr. M. Ali Syafa’at as secretary, and other members include Dr. Gede Palguna, Prof. Dr. Saldi Isra, Dr. Kurnia Warman, Zainal Arifin Mochtar SH LLM, Winarno Yudo SH M.H. and Siti Marwiyah SH M.H. The Jury will assess compliance with procedural law, as well as the quality of the substance of the trial.
