Secretary General of the Constitutional Court (MK), Janedjri M. Gaffar gave a public lecture at the Faculty of Law, Brawijaya University of Malang in East Java, on Wednesday (26/10).Janedjri provided material about the prevention of corruption in the judiciary and prevent it and Janedjri experiences in the Constitutional Court.   

Janedjri who often wrote down his thoughts to the media in the presence of S1, S2, S3, and the lecturers Unibraw say that the judiciary is the last bastion of justice. However, corruption is often injure the value of justice and judicial decisions.   

In fact, continued Janedjri, the judiciary must be free from corruption to the judiciary became island of integrity that is trusted by the community. When corruption is revealed in an institution of justice, public confidence will drop and even disappear."We will face greater problems and complex when people no longer put any trust in state institutions," Janed message, as he is usually called.  

Still in his presentation, said first key Janedjri prevention of corruption in the judiciary is in human resources (HR). Every man according Janedjri have innate values individually. However, when entered in the judiciary, justice values should dominate or even change the individual values.   

In addition, in managing the modern judiciary, as well as the Constitutional Court, affirmed the necessity of implementing Janedjri principles of good governance. These principles disclosed Janedjri, namely good governance, transparency, fairness, impartiality, independence, and accountability. 

  

Efforts to Court 

Janedjri then continued his explanation by stating that efforts can be taken to prevent acts of corruption in the judiciary, including the Constitutional Court.   

To prevent corruption, the judiciary must be arranged with notice of management that emphasizes the principles of cooperation and mutual control and balance between work units. "The existence of an internal regulatory apparatus needed to ensure the functional chain without any abuse of authority," said Janedjri suggested.   

A clear mechanism of action in the form of standard operating procedure (SOP) with target minimum service standards (MSS) can also prevent the abuse of authority.   

Finally, Janedjri said prevention of corruption cannot be done alone. "Efforts to prevent corruption in the judiciary cannot be done by the judiciary itself but must be supported by the entire community, especially the parties relating to the judiciary," lid Janedjri.
