General Secretary: “We encourage Young People to be an Entrepreneur”

General Secretary of the Constitutional Court (MK) Janedjri M. Gaffar said the Youth Pledge Day celebration not only celebrated as routine, so it loses meaning.

"We must interpret the return in accordance with the spirit of today, without losing the values of the Youth Pledge itself. Although we have to reflect back, but we have to anticipate the future history of the nation in the face of new challenges with the spirit of the values of the Youth Pledge, the Proclamation of Independence, Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution and Unity in Diversity, "explained the coach as the Commemoration Ceremony Janedjri Youth Pledge to-83 on Friday (28/10) on the front page of the Constitutional Court Building.

Janedjri continued, warning the Youth Pledge to-83 carries the theme "Youth Build an entrepreneurial Indonesia, Helpless Competitiveness and Caring Fellow ‘which contains a message that the move towards a competitive Indonesia and dignity depend on the character of a solid young man and put forward the noble character above spirit of unity and the unity of Indonesia.

"The character of this solid is characterized by the spirit of patriotic, nationalist spirit, self-rooted, broad-minded, enlightened intelligence, concern the glue, and the determination to unite all of which are shaded by the values of Pancasila in the frame of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia," said Janedjri to officials and employees MKRI are present.

Janedjri also explained, in 2015 the Indonesian nation will enter a new era of ASEAN Community which includes the security community, economic, social and cultural rights. In this kind of an ASEAN Community, the flow of goods, services, and people will be more freely so that it is part of the challenge and opportunities ahead for the nation and the youth of Indonesia.

"Thus, the competition is no longer covering 240 million people of Indonesia, but with 500 million people of ASEAN. We must be able to prosper in the new era, as well as self-identity should not lose all Indonesian, "added Janedjri.

Therefore, continued Janedjri, the Indonesian nation must prepare the youth of Indonesia in all fields, in every corner of Indonesia, to compete and win the competition without losing their cultural roots. To that end, the youth of modern Indonesia must master three languages, the first national language or national language of Indonesian language, and one international language, plus a local language.

"We actively encourage and prepare young people to enter or become entrepreneurs, creating jobs for themselves and for others, Indonesia’s economy and promote turning, not only just at the national level, but also at international level or at least at the level of ASEAN," Janedjri said.

Janedjri further said that Indonesia should be grateful nation with the presence of Law No.40/2009 on Youth. Given this law, then implemented through youth development youth ministry will be more clear, focused, and measurable progress, particularly on aspects of awareness, empowerment, and development potential of youth.

According to Law No. 40 / 2009 on Youth, the Youth are citizens aged 16 to 30 years.
