Mahfud MD: It Takes Optimism Nowadays

Mahfud MD as Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court in its keynote speech at the launch of a book entitled "Indonesia Optimistic" by Prof.. Denny Indrayana, SH, LL.M, Ph.D who is also an expert staff of the President of Legal Affairs, Human Rights and the Eradication of corruption directly from the Building I Gadjah Mada University Yogyajakarta on Saturday (17.09.11), delivering much-needed optimism at this time. Mahfud MD said the book is against the current of public opinion. "With Indonesia Optimistic title, this book certainly against the current of public opinion since the general flow of current is pessimistic," he said.

Mahfud said at least there are three things that show an increase in this nation, namely democracy, eradicating corruption and governance. No doubt there are also some declines in some areas. "Capital for Indonesia remained optimistic and living how we are running such a sense of optimism" he said.

"This book is very good indeed, in addition to accurate data, this book is also equipped with an objective analysis, not a priori, easy to read but does not lose its scientific weight", added Mahfud. In his oration Mahfud also added the progress of this nation under the leadership of President Yudhoyono, in which one of them is law enforcement against violations of Indonesia. "Now there is no gross human rights violation in Indonesia, if the first violation of human rights is dominated by a repressive state apparatus, now it happens at the level of the horizontal" said Mahfud.

Denny Indrayana the author also believes Indonesia can still be optimistic, people only consumed by the news in the media that seemed to show Indonesia to become a failed state. "The sense of pessimism to failure and will only reverse a sense of optimism is the capital to succeed. In this book I describe a variety of international data and national data on the development of Indonesia that has not been known to the wider community.
