Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Moh. Mahfud MD attended the Commemoration of the Constitution Day and the 66th People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Anniversary, Thursday (18 / 8) morning. This event took place in Gedung Nusantara IV Complex MPR-DPR, Senayan, Jakarta. On that occasion, it attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Chairman of the MPR Taufik Kiemas, chairman of the House of Representatives Marzuki Alie, and several Cabinet ministers and members of the United II MPR. In his speech, the President expressed the importance of consensus agreement in the decision. According to him, it is one manifestation of the values contained by Pancasila. "That is one important point in our Pancasila," he said. "We want to oppose the dictatorial majority as well as minority tyranny."
In addition, he also touched on the importance of people's active role in changing the Constitution. "To change the constitution the people should be involved, because it essentially belongs to the people. Do not necessarily voting for the changes," said President SBY.
