PGRI Yogyakarta Students Visited the Court

Fajar Laksono was receiving a group of students from the University of PGRIYogyakarta (UPY) who visited the Constitutional Court (MK), Tuesday (26 / 7) on the 4th Floor of the Court House


The students from the University of PGRI Yogyakarta (UPY) visited to the Constitutional Court (MK), Tuesday (26 / 7). The visit was carried out related to the Civics course that discusses about the Constitutional Court of Indonesia’s judicial system. The students were briefed UPY material directly from Fajar Laksono staff as chairman of the Constitutional Court.

During the visit the students seemed enthusiastic and critical to receive the assigned material and accompanied by questions and answers. One student of UPY asked the question “whether the test material created laws that had previously been done by the Constitutional Court?”

Fajar Laksono as speakers at the event explained that the Constitutional Court in Indonesia to apply for judicial review system, where the Constitutional Court is passive for legislation legislation that has made the Parliament and government. This is different with the Constitutional Court in France to apply a judicial system that does the testing material preview actively Act after the enactment of the law agreed.

Dawn said that it is passive on the establishment of the Constitutional Court Act because the Act has been given the task of formation to the judiciary in the Parliament, the Constitutional Court as a perpetrator of judicial power.

The Court is parallel to MPR, DPR, MA and other higher institutions.
