Head of Research and Assessment Center (Kapuslitka) of Constitutional Court, Noor Sidhartha are explaining the role of the Constitutional Court and its authority to the students of Faculty of Humanities Department of Libraries, Diponegoro University (Undip) of Semarang on Wednesday (20 / 7) in the Conference Room of the Court


All students of the Faculty of Humanities, Library Department, Diponegoro University (Undip) of Semarang visit the Constitutional Court (MK), Wednesday (20 / 7) in the morning. Their arrivals are received by Noor Sidharta, Head of Research and Assessment of the Court. Their aims are to conduct comparative studies on the Constitutional Court library.

Venturing into the meeting, Noor Sidhartha explain the role of the Constitutional Court as one of the judicial power which is the guardian of the constitution (the guardian of the constitution), and has the authority i.e. reviewing the acts against the Constitution, decide the dispute of the authority of the institution whose authority is granted by the 1945 Constitution, decide upon the dissolution of political parties and deciding disputes over election results and election.

"In addition the Court has an obligation to give a decision on the opinion of the House on impeachment of the President and / or Vice President," Sidharta said.

Sidhartha reveals the library as an important element for the Court. Constitutional Court library is a special library that collects information about constitutional law, as well as information related to it such as politics, public administration, history and biography.

Court library stands along with the birth of the Court. It occupies a building owned by Depkominfo at Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat No.7 Jakarta. In 2007 when the new Constitutional Court building functioned at Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat No.6 Jakarta, Court library occupies five floors with an area of 1430 square meters. Then in 2008 the library expanded, adding on the 6th floor. In 2009, the library exist the 16th floor in support of the Consultative Meeting (RPH).

Regarding the vision of the library is a library MKRI and complete legal information center in Indonesia. While its mission, realizing the Constitutional Court library as a legal reference library that provides comprehensive in Indonesia, as well as helping duties, functions and constitutional obligations of the Constitutional Court in Indonesia to build communities that are aware of the constitution.

Court library is under the Center for Research and Assessment of the Constitutional Court, which is functionally collaborate with researchers and experts in support of constitutional justice, has a function as a supporting system unit in the provision of literature for constitutional justice, to produce a quality decision. The main services provided to library MKRI constitutional justice, while the general services provided to users others such as researchers, employees, and people from the outside.

Until 2011, the number of library collections in the library MKRI reached 7243 titles and 16,456 copies, including the collection of electronic book (eBook) accounted for 164 titles that can be opened through the pages of the Constitutional Court on the library window. In addition, the library provides books MKRI constitutional law, public administration, political, and social, as well as magazines (7 titles), newspapers (17 titles), decisions and minutes, as well as theses and dissertations.
