Writing Competition Jury on Meeting to Set the Winner

Three experts as the juries of Writing Competition of Constitutional Court Anniversary, Saldi Isra (Lecturer of Andalas University of Padang), Arief Hidayat (Lecturer of Diponegoro University), and Winarno Yudho (Lecturer of UI) is doing the judging for the determination of the winner on Monday (20/6 ) on the 11th floor conference room of the Constitutional Court Building.


Before the announcement of the winners of Essay Competition organized by Constitutional Court (MK), the juries conduct meetings to determine the winner. They are assessing the results of the writings of participants. They assume the enthusiasm of people who followed this competition increased and the quality of writing that are contested are also better than of previous year. There are 62 writings competing for the position of the winner.

In welcoming the 8th Constitutional Court Anniversary on August 13, 2011, the Secretariat General and Registrar of Constitutional Court held a Writing Competition. The competition has three categories; for teachers, students, and the public. Participants are required to write the following themes that have been determined by the committee.

Required themes are "The Role of the Constitutional Court in the Democratization Process in Indonesia", "The role of Court in Making Election Honestly and Fairly", "The role of Court in consolidation of democracy in Indonesia", "The Status of Court Verdict as Negative Legislator," "Strength and Implementation of the Constitutional Court in National Legal Systems ", "Strengthening the Role of the Court in Human Rights and Constitutional Rights of Citizens "," Initiate Constitutional Complaint in Indonesia ", and "The 8th Years of Court, Hopes and Challenges ".

To ensure the writing contest winners, the three judges gathered at the 11th floor of the Court House. They are Saldi Isra (Experts and Constitutional Law Lecturer in Andalas University of Padang), Arief Hidayat (Experts and Constitutional Law Lecturer in Diponegoro University), and Winarno Yudho (Experts and Lecturer in Law Faculty of UI). They were assessed for two days, Saturday up to Sunday, 18 till June 19, 2011 at Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta.

The three judges are competent and they have nearly the same assessment. They are considered participants in writing competition are better the quality. "This year many devotees and quality of the writing is better than last year," Saldi said. He was also a jury last year.

After giving assessment, they have the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners for each category. The winners are considered to have an average value higher than other participants. According to the plan, the winners will be announced on Constitutional Week which will be scheduled later.

In front of the Head of Mass Media of Constitutional Court Subdivision, Heru Setiawan and other Public Relations Staffs, the juries reminded the participants for the authenticity by writing a letter of written statement. "What we need, their works (participants, red) are original. They should make a declaration stating their writing stamped originally. If they later prove plagiarism, any awards that have been granted may be withdrawn, even the perpetrators of plagiarism can be criminalized, "said Saldi which echoed by other jurors.
