Rieke Diah Pitaloka Consult the Court on BPJS Draft

Members of the Parliament in Health Commission Rieke Diah Pitaloka along with a number of other leaders visited Constitutional Court (MK), Thursday (9/6) afternoon. Their arrival is received directly by the Chairman of the Constitutional Courtand Mahfud MD, Judge Harjono, Judge Ahmad Fadlil Sumadi, and Judge
Maria Farida Indrati. Their coming aims to seek input and advice concerning Social Security Organizing Body (BPJS) draft.

"We asked for input from Constitutional Court concerning BPJS draft that will have 23 days more to finish. It will determine whether we will have a social security and protection of people from birth to death through the five guarantees,"
said Rieke told reporters after meeting with constitutional judges.
 
Five guarantees are health insurance, accident insurance, pension, retirement
security and assurance of death. According to Rieke, input from MK is important because of its understanding to law issues, it is necessary for the purposes of BPJS bill.

During the meeting, the Court gave significant input concerning how to have a comprehensive social security for all citizens without discrimination and limitation. That is, including the issue of kontabilitas, means social security should not be limited by the area problems.

"Right now regional social security (jamkesda) in one area can not be used in other areas. For example, jamkesda in Jakarta can not be used in Bogor. Does the disease picky area? Surely it is not to be like that, "said Rieke questioned.

Mahfud MD and other Constitutional Justices really provide support and positive response related BPJS bill, because they are well aware that national social security system is needed by the entire people of Indonesia. (Nano Tresna A.)
