Jakarta, MKOnline - Chairman of Constitutional Court Moh. Mahfud MD, Said that Pancasila is not contrary to the teachings of Islam. This time, the statement delivered during a Friday prayers in Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Friday (3/6). Mahfud MD became a Khotib (Islamic preacher).

According to him, in this big country, Pancasila managed to make room spacious for Muslims to take part without being discriminated or discriminate against others.

Mahfud further said the major problem of this nation that must be addressed together is the rule of law and justice. "As Muslims, we do not need to fight for the formalization of legal and state institutions with the label of Islam. Because Indonesia as a state of Pancasila does not conflict with Islam, "he explained.

What is more important for us, according to Mahfud, not about an Islamic state or Islamic law formally, but rather fight for substantive message of Islam, such as protection of human rights, democracy, leadership trust, as well as law enforcement and justice."Substantive messages like that would be acceptable by all people regardless of religion that is held by each, and therefore more effective to fight," he said.

According to Mahfud, law enforcement and justice is one of the substances that are important in the teachings of Islam, so the Prophet Muhammad, his companions, and the tabi'in make as stepping implementation of state and government. "If we love for this nation, and want to Indonesian survivors, then we have to fight hard for law and justice can be enforced in a country that we love," he said.

Mahfud also highlighted how the mob justice in this country spread out. He warned that the 1998 reform is a true joint motion to enforce the law and justice. One goal of reform is to eradicate mafia courts, or the sale and purchase of lawsuits based on the power of money, and political pressures. "But now, it seems that goal is still distant. The condition is exactly the opposite. Sense of justice in society hurt due to corrupt behavior of our law enforcement officials, "he explained.

Furthermore Mahfud feel sad to see the phenomenon of enforcement of this nation. Law enforcement is less forward element of justice. He was sad to listen to someone brought to criminal court because it took the electric shock to charge his cell phone. While many big criminals had damaged the joints of national and state life difficult for law but they were untouched. "Seeing it, we are very disturbed sense of justice. Our conscience screamed when formal-procedural law used to punish or not punish people fairly, "he said.

Mahfud believes that a country will be stronger when the country put forward the rule of law and justice. Once on the contrary, if the rule of law and justice are ignored then we are just waiting for its demise.

Law and justice, according to Mahfud, are universal, knows no religion and faith. Therefore, many countries even though its leaders infidel country, they becomes big and strong. As for countries that do not enforce the law and justice in a correct, although the Islamic religious leader, the country became backward and poor.

At the end of his sermon, Mahfud warned on June 1, 66 years ago, the Day of Birth of Pancasila, Bung Karno said that our job as the nation's unity is nationalism. Nationalism will be strong if justice and the law enforced. "In Islam, it is said, if you enforce the law, then enforce the law fairly. In fairness there are only ukhwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), not ukhwah bainalmuslimin (fraternal among Muslims), "he explained. (Shohibul Umam /mh/Yazid.tr)
