Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Mahfud MD, Deputy Chief Justice Achmad Sodiki altogether with seven other justices accompanied by Courtâs Secretary General Janedjri M. Gaffar visiting the Diorama on Indonesian History in the Indonesian National Archieve (ANRI) Building Jakarta, Thursday (7/4) afternoon. The delegation was directly welcomed by the Chief of ANRI, M. Asichin with his staff.
Jakarta, MKOnline - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (The Court) Mahfud MD together with Deputy Chief Justice Achmad Sodiki and other justices, the Secretary General Janedjri M. Gaffar, some structural officers and employees visited the Indonesian National Archieve (ANRI) Building Jakarta on Thursday (7/4) afternoon.
In that opportunity, ANRI gave an opportunity to the officials and employees of The Court to walk through the Diorama on National History; among others, watching the documentary film on November 10, 1945 incident in Surabaya; the story of Bung Karno during his time as President; a picture of situation during the Youth Pledge event in 1928, battles led by General Sudirman, including the original text of Proclamation and Indonesia Raya anthem.
The visit was also related to the plan of The Court to realize the idea of making a Diorama on Constitution within The Court as put in the MoU between MK-ANRI previously signed to organize the development of historical documentation on constitution which could give major contribution to the documentation of the history of the constitution development.
“This Constitution Diorama will focus on the constitution; because the problem around constitution is not far from what is pictured in the Diorama on National History here,” said Mahfud.
Mahfud continued that Indonesian constitution had often experienced changes from time to time but the constitutional values never changed. The spirit of the constitution was still the same, the aspect of nationality, pluralism, multiculturalism were still united. “I think those are the things that we have to pass on in the future,” revealed Mahfud.
Meanwhile, Chief of ANRI Asichin said that his side was ready to assist The Court in realizing the Diorama on Constitution as planned. “Principally, we are ready to prepare the related documents from the Dutch, Japan until the founding of the Republic of Indonesia, including the stories around the characters involved in constituting the constitution,” added Asichin accompanied by public relation officer of ANRI, Hilman Rosmana and other officials.
On last January 13, 2011 a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chief of ANRI Asichin and the Secretary General of The Court Janedjri M. Gaffar was signed witnessed by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, E.E. Mangindaan and the Chief Justice of The Court, Mahfud MD.
The cooperation between ANRI-MKRI was set up to create an accountable working pattern within The Court, so that every document whether related to general administration or judicial administration including the case files and decisions of The Court could be managed, stored, and saved according to the principles and rules of good archiving.
