Constitutional Justice Maria Farida Indrati is having a chat with students from Universitas Indonesia after the closing of Legal Drafting and Formulation Competition, with the theme âIndonesian Law on Progressâ held by the Student Executive Body of the Faculty of Law of UI on Friday (8/10) at the Nusantara Room, Peopleâs Legislative Assembly building.
Jakarta, MKOnline - Constitutional Justice Maria Farida Indrati attended the closing of Law Drafting and Formulation Competition, as a part of the ”Indonesian Law on Progress” activities held by the Student Executive Body of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Indonesia on Friday (8/10) at the Nusantara Room, People’s Legislative Assembly building. A number of national figures were present at the event, including the Speaker of the People’s Legislative Assembly Marzukie Ali.
The Law Drafting and Formulation Competition held on October 3-8, 2010 and also attended by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Patrialis Akbar, was a contest among eight national universities in the effort to formulate and draft legislations. Among the participants were Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) Jogjakarta, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Medan, Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) Bandung, Universitas Udayana Denpasar, etc.
The competition was aimed at making the students, as intellectual people, capable of expressing and giving their ideas as well as making contribution to the state elegantly. The main issue put forward in such competition included the issue of education, the results of which will be submitted directly to the People’s Legislative Assembly.
In the closing of the Law Drafting and Formulation Competition, the committee finally decided three winners, namely UII Jogjakarta (first place), Unpad Bandung (runner-up) and Universitas Udayana Denpasar (third place). (Nano Tresna A./mh)
