Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Moh Mahfud MD plants a tree seed in the Commomeration of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (Korps Alumni Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam-KAHMI) on Sunday (10/10) morning, at Monas parking ground, Jakarta.
Jakarta, MKOnline - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Moh. Mahfud MD with his wife, attended the Commomeration of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (Korps Alumni Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam-KAHMI) on Sunday (10/10) morning, at Monas parking ground, Jakarta. The theme of this year’s Kahmi Anniversary was “To Be a Dignified Nation.”
Several national figures who are also HMI alumni participated in the event, including among others the Speaker of the People’s Legislative Assembly, Marzukie Ali, the Minister of Forestry, Zulkifli Hasan, Akbar Tanjung, AM Fatwa, and Mayor of Central Jakarta, Sylviana Murni.
On the occasion, Mahfud along with these figures joined the healthy walk followed by hundreds of participants who were mostly Kahmi members. The route taken was circling Monas.
After the walk, Mahfud also symbolically planted tree seed provided by the committee. “This is one of the series of activities in Kahmi Commomeration, namely the declaration of Kahmi planting movement,” said the Head of Committee Manimbang Kahariady. “Symbolically, 44 seeds will be planted, indicating the age of Kahmi.”
The plan was that on Tuesday (12/10), Mahfud would deliver a national oration in the main event of Kahmi Commomeration.
Silaturahmi and Halal Bihalal
On the evening, in a separate event, Kahmi Yogyakarta Branch and Amal Insani Foundation, held a get-together event of silaturahim and halal bihalal at the Ground Floor Hall of the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta. “Mr. Mahfud is acting as the shohibul bait (host) of this event,” one of the committees, Derwanto, joked.
In the event attended by the seniors and alumni of HMI Yogyakarta, a video montage on the history of HMI was shown and the scholarship was awarded to HMI cadres in several universities throughout Indonesia. (Dodi/mh)
