250 underage children casted their votes to support Ragent and Vice Candidate Joachim Lopez and Taolin Ludovikus (Jalin package), in second round election in Belu Regency, Tuesday (11/12).

That was revealed in the lawsuit about the claim of objection on the Announcement of Election Recapitulation made by Candidate pair Gregorius Mau Bili and Berchmans Mau Bria (Gemar), read in the initial trial for case No. 62/PHPU.D-VI/2008 held in the Plenary Court Room of the Constitutional Court scheduled for Initial Verification, Tuesday (30/12).

By this legal fact, Gemar argued that those number of votes had to be declared illegal and had to be deducted from the votes gained by Jalin pair with the total of 84.061 votes according to the information in the transcript of proceeding issued by Belu Election Commission.

The involvement of the children was one of the violations in form of votes marking-up in Belu Election. Gemar claimed to find four modus operandi of violations in the election process ignored by Belu Election Commission, “They were the use of violent actions and systematic deceit, marked-up votes accepted in vote centers, and the deduction of votes achieved by Gemar pair,” mentioned the Legal Counsel of Gemar, Gunadi, S.H.

In accordance to that, Head of Constitutional Panel Board of Justice Akil Mochtar urged the Gemar pair as the Petitionee to prepare their evidences and witnesses. “This is a speedy trial. So you have to be quick and to consider the time for the process because this case has to be settled, the latest, on January 16, 2009,” explained Akil.

However, before hearing to the information from witnesses and the submission of evidences from the Petitioner, tomorrow, Wednesday (31/12), the Court would hold the second trial to hear the information from Belu Election Commission as the Petitionee. (Kencana Suluh Hikmah)
