Jakarta âââ‰â¬Å The board of Constitutional Court Justices requested the lawyers of Amrozi c.s. to make on-the-spot revision by adding the provision in the petitum.
That was revealed in the trial for the judicial review of Act No. 2/Pnps/1964 on the Death Penalty Executing Procedure filed by Moslem Defender Team because it was considered against the 1945 Constitution.
"It has to be revised. You are asking for a provision decision but you donâââ‰â¢t put it in your petitum part, in fact that would be the ground for the Court to consider the demand of the petitioners," said the head of Justice Panel Board, Maruarar Siahaan in the trial at the Constitutional Court Building, Medan Merdeka Barat Street, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (27/8/2008).
Responding to the advise from the Board of Justices, Wirawanan Adnan from the Lawyers Team said, "Our on the spot revision will make it as point No. 3 in the petitum of our Petition."
Adnan also demanded the Attorney General Office not to execute Amrozi c.s. before the process ended. âââ¬Ã
âAttorney General has to wait until the judicial review process ends," he said.
If the execution was still carried on, according to Adnan, it meant that the Attorney General Office did not respect the Constitution. Before, the Attorney General stated that the execution of Amrozi c.s. did not have to wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court. (did/nrl)
