Celebrating 100 years of National Resurgence Day, Straight Way Movement (Gerakan Jalan Lurus) cooperated with the Constitutional Court (Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK)) held a seminar with its theme “Road Map Realize the Freedom Aspiration“, Wednesday (5/21), in MK Building s Hall. Chief Justice of MK Jimly Asshiddiqie, Coordinator of Gerakan Jalan Lurus Sulastomo, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment Taufiq Effendi, and Vice Chairman of People Consultative Assembly (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat (MPR)) Mooryati Soedibyo.

In his reception, Jimly ordered us to keep our optimism for the national progress. “However, it is not enough. Action is more important,” Jimly stated.  Along with the optimism spirit, Jimly said that Indonesian citizens should decide their way, the right and straight way which we could always walk on although barrier attacked.

“We also have to confess that our citizens are so plural. So that, one of the straight way terms is Unity in Diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika). It was fix with our state s pillar which consist of 5 Principle (Pancasila), 1945 Constitution (UUD 1945), United Nation of Republic Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,“ Jimly explained.

Fix with Jimly, Sulastomo stated that the “road map” which Gerakan Jalan Lurus, the organization he led, had aims to make Pancasila and UUD 1945 could be operated. “Our nation still could not apply the state philosophy in same perception. Debating is still often done on its application. So that we need a road map to make UUD 1945 and Pancasila could be operated, then our nation could exist among globalization stream,“ Soelastomo said.

Ending the opening, Taufiq Effendi ordered us to make the celebration of 100 years of National Resurgence Day the first step for Indoensian citizens to a better day.“It is time for us to re-write history of the Republic. Dont make an ordinary plan, because, if we think an ordinary thought,  we will be an ordinary nation,” Taufiq ended.(Kencana Suluh Hikmah)
