CONSTITUTIONAL Constitution (MK), President Consideration Board (Wantimpres), Indonesian Science Academy [AIPI (Akademi Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia)], and Minister of State Apparatus Empowering (Menpan) held a hearing meeting to discuss bureaucratic reformation. In the meeting it was revealed that the Constitutional Court became the modernization model for State institution and courts.
Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Jimly Asshiddiqie explained that the meeting began when AIPI, consisted of senior figures with the highest authorities in five science fields, held a study on crucial problems of the country. The most serious problem of all was the government management and the importance of bureaucratic reformation. "Because of that, we invite Wantimpres and Menpan to have a consultation to find the solution of the problems," added Jimly in Jakarta, yesterday (31/3).
What discussed in the meeting according to Jimly was how the Constitutional Court could provide support to do the democratic reformation. "Someone threw an idea to make the Constitutional Court the model of bureaucratic modernization for justicial institutions and State institutions."
The same remark was also said by a member of Wantimpres, Adnan Buyung Nasution. For Adnan, the Constitutional Court had succeeded in their justicial administration system. Because the verdict being read out within hours people could access it freely. "If the Constitutional Court can, why not the Supreme Court, District Courts, Sub District Courts can not? If there is an example capable of doing that, why others can not take it as an example?"
That is why in the future, the Supreme Court and other justicial institution would be pushed to follow the Constitutional Court. So that, every verdict resulted could be used as reference and example for improvement in every sector. "The meeting also discussed how to face the many problems of the country, within a year that we have. The result is, we need to cooperate and help each other. And the successful example in terms of system is the Constitutional Court."
For Adnan the improvement in the future could form people believe that our country can go forward. "Outside, we are depicted as a seventeen separated countries. And this can be rebutted by working hard in bureaucratic reformation."
Menpan, Taufik Effendi, said that his party was doing the system improvement. "I think what should be improved was the information system or the IT because the aim is e-government." [by : Siagian Priska Cesillia]
