The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Jimly Asshiddiqie, and Constitution Justice H. Harjono, accompanied by the General Secretary of the Constitutional Court, attended the puppet show held by the Wonogiri Regent, Begug Poernomosidi, at the Wonogiri Regent Hall, on Saturday (15/3) night.

At the puppet show with Kresna Duta story, Begug and Untung Wiyono was the people behind the screen. Meanwhile Rina Iriani, Regent of Karanganyar, acted as the sinden (singer in Javanese tradition-ed.). the role, was implicitly a media to give understanding about Indonesian legal and constitutional systems to the people.

When appearing in Limbukan (dialogue-ed.) in the puppet show, Rina said that “Puppets is one of the people’s culture. With light language and easily absorbed by the people, the puppets have become the right socialization media for the people to understand our legal and constitutional systems”,

In the Limbukan session, Jimly and Harjono had the opportunity to take part in the show. As always Jimly, a Palembang-born, inserted some messages about the Constitutional Court and explaining the authorities.

“So, the Constitutional Court, acts as one of the high state’s bodies, in which the jobs as the guardian of the constitution were having the authority to examine a legislation against the 1945 Constitution, to settle dispute between State Bodies the authority of which are provided by the Constitution, to settle a political party dismissal and to settle dispute over General Election result. Besides that, the Constitutional Court must also give decision on the House of Representatives opinion concerning the suspicion of President and/or Vice President’s treason according to the Constitution,” he explained in front of the audience in the puppet show.

Related to the show as a way to give understanding on the constitutional system to the people, Jimly said that Indonesian people were one of the great countries provided by various cultures.
