MAN OF THE YEAR: JIMLY ASSHIDDIQIE

Chief of The Constitution Court Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddiqie, S.H. was chosen as “Man of The Year” from an international magazine, GlobeAsia.

 

Of more than 100 candidates for the winner of the “Man of The Year” ranging from executive and judicative officers, human rights activists, educators, until entrepreneur, GlobeAsia gave the choice to the Chief of the Constitution Court, Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddiqie, S.H. bacause of several reasons, firstly, Jimly Asshiddiqie and his colleagues have proven to posses good track records by becoming contributors towards the realization of law reformation in Indonesia which strengthened the democratic process in Indonesia.

 

Next, Jimly Asshiddiqie has proven to be able to build an institution which brings good effects on bureaucratic reformation. Thirdly, in a law culture famously reckoned to be slow, Jimly Asshiddiqie was considered successful in providing a quick trial principle. Not only that, based on productivity, the process and the verdicts issued by the Constitution Court, Jimly Asshiddiqie has proven to provide excellent public services. This is the extinguishing points that set him apart from the other candidates. Finally, based on the verdicts issued by The Constitution Court, Jimly Asshiddiqie and the Constitution Justice were considered successful in conducting impartial trials.
