JAKARTA (MKRI) —Rokan Hulu Regent and Deputy Regent Candidates Number 1, Kelmi Amri and Asparaini, submitted a petition on the 2024 Rokan Hulu Regent election results dispute (PHP) to the Constitutional Court (MK). The petition was submitted by Eva Nora, a member of the Kelmi-Asparaini legal representative, on Thursday (5/12/2024). In the petition, Kelmi-Asparaini argued that the KPU failed to deliver C notification letters to the community and that the moving of the Final Voter List to polling stations was not in accordance with the voter data verification.
"In addition to the KPU (General Elections Commission) failing to deliver the C notification letter to the community, the KPU also relocated the nearest final voter by placing it at a polling station, roughly 20 kilometers away. This made it impossible for people to vote at their designated polling station, as they were instructed to vote at polling station 1, but the Final Voter for that station was relocated to polling station 50, which was about 20 kilometers away," he said.
For information, the Decree of the Rokan Hulu Regency KPU Number 1293 of 2024 regarding the determination of the results of the Regent and Deputy Regent Elections in Rokan Hulu Regency, states that the Kelmi-Asparaini pair received 99,731 votes, or 37%. Meanwhile, the other candidate pairs secured 102,846 valid votes, or 39%, thus leading in the election.
Gorontalo Mayor Election
On the same occasion, the Court also received a petition for PHP for the 2024 Mayor of Gorontalo City. The petition was filed by candidates Ryan Fahrichsan Kono and Charles Budi Doku, represented by their legal representative, Ucok Edison.
In his statement, Ucok revealed that one of the mayoral candidates had not graduated from elementary school but was still allowed to register as a candidate. "There is a mayor who has never graduated from elementary school but was able to register as a mayoral candidate. We have reported this to Bawaslu, but it was deadlocked, so we are seeking justice at the Constitutional Court," he said.
For reference, the Decree of the Gorontalo City KPU Number 569 of 2024, concerning the determination of the results of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections in Gorontalo City, stated that the Petitioner Candidate Pair Ryan Fahrichsan Kono and Charles Budi Doku received 24,904 valid votes.
Based on observations of the List Petitions of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election on the Constitutional Court website, as of Friday, December 6, 2024, at 07:30 WIB, the Court had received a total of 54 petitions for disputes over election results.
